45008: Christina Macmillan

Christina (1831-1896) was a daughter of Angus Macmillan and Isabella Macleod, 10 Old Eishken.  In 1835 the family were moved to 5 Old Steimreway where they lived until the village was cleared in 1857.  

Christina married Kenneth Nicolson, 19 Lemreway in 1851. Kenneth  was  a Cottar on Croft 19 and drowned in 1852 aged 25. They had no children.

On 12 January 1853 she married Murdo Ferguson, 2 Crulivig.  Her name was recorded as Catherine on their Marriage Certificate . Their first child, Catherine was born in Steimreway in 1854. The family then moved to Crulivig where their second child, Angus, was born. Christina and Murdo settled at 3 Lemreway and they  had a further nine children.

She died of TB aged 63
