Catherine (1837-1876) was a daughter of Donald Macdonald and Catherine Mackenzie, 6 Old Orinsay.
Her father died in 1839 and when Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 the family lived with Murdo at 15 Crossbost.
The family moved to 6 Crossbost and later to 8 Balallan.
In Lochs, in 1861, she married Alexander Nicolson, 9 Lemreway. Catherine and Alexander settled at 9 Lemreway and they had seven children.
