Zachariah, born c1862, was the eldest son of William and Chirsty nee Maciver who emigrated from Lewis in the 1850s. According to one family source Zachariah died in 1880 aged eighteen years, yet he was listed, aged 18, along with his siblings, in the family home at Whitton, Quebec, in the 1881 Census of Canada (Whitton, Quebec, District 54, Subdistrict K, Division 1, Page 10, Household 37)
