Margaret (born 1869) was a daughter of Donald Maclean and Ann Macdonald, 10 Valtos. In 1892 at 810 Govan Road, Margaret married Alexander John Mackenzie of 7 Laxay. At the time of their wedding, Margaret was noted as resident at at 16 Francis Street, Stornoway, and Alexander John at 888 Govan Road.

The couple moved to Stornoway and settled in Glasgow. They had eight children: Catherine Ann, Georgina, Margaret; Mary (born 29th October 1902), Annie, Dolina, Alexander John, and Christina (born 6th November 1904).
