35914: Angus Allan Macdonald

Aonghas Ailean Dhòmhnaill Dhòmhnaill

Angus Allan (1889-1914) was a son of Donald Macdonald and Christina Macmillan, 6 Kershader.

He went to Patagonia to work on a cattle ranch and later to Montana, USA where he competed in rodeos. According to family tradition, he was thrown off a horse whilst taking part in one such event and his injuries were more serious than he first thought as he may have developed an infection in the groin as a result. He returned home to Scotland but his health declined and he died in the Western Infirmary, Glasgow at  26 years of age in 1914.

Angus Allan is buried in the cemetery at Laxay.
