22395: Malcolm Macleod

Calum Dhòmhnaill Chaluim

Malcolm (1889-1975) was a son of Donald Macleod and Gormelia Macleod of 2 Kershader.

He served with the 4th Gordon Highlanders during the First World War and was wounded and gassed before taken prisoner in September 1915. Malcolm is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

At Hillhead, in 1922, he married Johnina Macleod, 40 Balallan.

He taught at Drinishader School in Harris and then became Headmaster of Knockiandue School, Keose from 1927 to 1955. The couple retired to 59 Balgreen Road, Edinburgh in 1955.
