13456: Duncan Macdonald
Duncan Macdonald (1885-1927) was a son of Donald Macdonald and Catherine Mackenzie, 13 Habost.
On February 23, 1916 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve S/N SF4235. His record indicates that he was 5ft 9in tall with green eyes and a dark complexion. Duncan was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. Based at HMS Vivid, HMS Victory and HMS Boadicea II. He was Invalided out of service with Tuberculosis in March 1917and awarded a Pension of 7/6d and then £8.3/- a week, received £2.10/- in Prize Money and is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
He was a bachelor at 13 Habost and died at home aged 41.
