121801: John Hymers
John Hymers (1826-1888) was born in Inverness-shire and lived at Farr, Sutherland.
He was living in Reay, Thurso in 1848 when he married widow Mary Matheson, nee Turnbull. Their first child, Jessie was born in Tongue and they had the next four children in Farr. Mary had a son, James from her first marriage. In the 1860s they moved to Shepherd’s House, Eishken which was called Eishken Lodge in the 1871 Census.
The family left Eishken in the 1870s and moved to Latheron, Sutherland.
