121417: Christina Montgomery

Christina Montgomery (1931-2021), otherwise known as Peggy Taylor, was born to Mary Ann Montgomery of Kintarvie Airidhbhruaich.  She was raised in Kintarvie.  On 24 August 1960 she married Malcolm Buchanan of 7 Mangersta Uig at Stornoway High Church. The couple settled at 13 Airidhbhruaich where they raised their own family.  Peggy was pre-deceased by her husband and son Donald Allan.  She worked as a weaver and crofter and played a very active role in both these communities. Peggy had moved to a care setting some time before her death in 2021.
