120898: Mairi Harvey

Mairi (1963-2001) was born in Glasgow, a daughter of Mary Neville and John Harvey. She was a great granddaughter of Malcolm Smith (Calum a’ Ghobha), 13 Valtos and one of three sisters who came to live in Uig. Mairi lived with her husband and two daughters at 7 Mangersta. She worked as Practice Manager at the Doctor’s Surgery, Miavaig and was also secretary at Uig School for a time.

Mairi was cared for at home during her final illness, which she faced positively and bravely. She passed away at aged only 38 years.
