Donald (1840-1893) was the only child son of Donald Mackinnon and Ann Mackay, 26 Old Brenish. According to dates in Bill Lawson's Croft History he was born the year his father died.

Donald moved with his widowed mother to 25 Brenish when the village was relotted in 1849. Donald was unmarried.
