Angus, born 1811, was the son of Roderick MacAskill and Mary Ferguson of Ruisgarry, moving to Obbe during the 1830s. Angus married Marion, whose maiden surname is unknown. They made their home in Obbe, where Angus was working as a day labourer in 1851.
