Alexander, born about 1834, was the son of Norman MacAskill and Christina Campbell of Englishtown, St Ann’s Bay. His wife was Catherine MacAulay.
Alexander was the younger brother of Angus Mòr MacAskill, who became known as the strongest man in the world.
