40184: Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was an infantry regiment of the British Army, part of the Scottish Division. The regiment earned the nickname of the "Thin Red Line" for its actions at Balaklava.

The Argylls were raised in 1794 and the Sutherlands in 1799. They amalgamated in 1881.
