40504: Shieldaig, Ross & Cromarty
Shieldaig is a village in the northwest Highlands of Scotland.
The village was founded in the late 18th century with a view to training up seamen in anticipation of the Napoleonic Wars, but after Napoleon’s defeat and exile to Elba, the community found itself a new role as a fishing village.
