2903: Point, Lewis

The district of Point on Lewis, known in Gaelic as An Rubha, is often referred to on maps as the Eye Peninsula, though this name does not seem to be in use locally at the present time. It is separated from the rest of Lewis by a narrow isthmus known as the Bràigh (full Gaelic name: Bràigh na h-Aoidhe).
