104279: High Borve, Lewis

In 1851, eight tenants from Reef, Uig were removed from the land and came to live on new crofts created from the farm section of Mid Borve Tack. This new crofting township was known as High Borve (Am Baile Ard). Initially there were eight crofts and in 1866, another croft was created for William Morrison, blacksmith, making a total of nine.

Following the addition of former croft lands of Old Mid Borve to the High Borve crofts in 1863, High Borve was sometimes referred to as Mid Borve.

In recent years, various parcels of land have been feued off from the crofts in High Borve as house sites.
