Summary:

ENCLOSURE (Post Medieval to Crofting – 1540 AD to 1950 AD)
STACK YARD (Post Medieval to Crofting – 1540 AD to 1950 AD)
Stack yard enclosure

Location:

NB 28202 16607

Full description:

"Situated immediately to the north of blackhouse (26.9) this irregular enclosure measures 10 metres from west to east and 7.5 metres from north to south. It is formed of turf walls with a stone face and it likely to represent the remains of a stack yard relating to blackhouse (26.9). It is unclear whether this stack yard was attatched to the blackhouse or whether it stood as a separate enclosure." (Burgess 2004, 52)
