1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill)
1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill) lies to the north of Berneray. It was created when both 1 Ruisgarry and 2 Ruisgarry were cleared in 1854, and the larger combined croft was passed to ground officer John MacLeod. The croft stayed in his direct line, passing down to Malcolm MacLeod then Roderick MacLeod. Roderick also obtained 3 Ruisgarry (Gearraidh na Creadha), which was combined with that at Sandhill. On his death the crofts passed to his son James MacLeod.
Several families of cottars also lived on the croft.
