John Mackenzie was the first tenant on No 18 Hacklete when it was lotted in 1880. He moved there from Croir with two unmarried sisters and, sometime in the late 1800s a relative, Christina Macdonald, and her husband Malcolm Matheson from Valtos moved in with them. The Mathesons are still the tenants of this croft.
