21520: 20 Balallan

Malcolm Macleod, who died in 1835 was the first tenant of this croft. His son Malcolm (1835-1923) set up a shop here when he had to give up fishing on account of seasickness. When the croft was split in 1886, Malcolm moved to 20a and built a house which was attached to No 20 and was unique in the area during that time Smart living in Balallan in the 1900s
