No.17 Kirkibost is located on either side of the road to Rubha Ghlais (No 19), and between the East Loch Roag and Nos. 16 and 18. The first tenant after resettlement was Murdo Macdonald, "am Brunach" from Tobson. He exchanged crofts with Christina Maclennan when Bosta was cleared. None of his children married and a married cousin lived with them latterly and got the croft. It remained in the family until the croft was sold in the early part of this century.
