19123: Sir Lancelot

The Sir Lancelot was composite clipper built by Robert Steele on the Clyde in 1865. She was 195ft long, with a 35ft beam carrying 35,000 square feet of sail. Her best day’s run was 336 nautical miles in 24 hours. She often raced with the Cutty Sark and sometimes had better passages. She was lost on the Hooghly River on 1st October 1895 during a cyclone.
