120288: HMAT Ulysses (A38)

Her Majesty’s Australian Transport Ship HMAT Ulysses was a Passenger/Cargo Ship built by Workman Clark & Co, Belfast for the China Mutual SN Co, London in 1913.

She was leased by the Commonwealth in 1917 and served as a Troopship in the First and Second World Wars.

On April 11, 1942, 45 south of Cape Hattaras, North Carolina,  the HMAT Ulysses was torpedoed and sunk with no loss of life.
