Alasdair Ailein Dhòmhnaill

Alexander  (1908-1996) was a son Allan Morrison and Janet Smith, 24 Lower Shader.

On July 19, 1926, he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number AX13469 and re-enrolled under BX8472. His records indicate that he was 5ft 8½ in tall, with fair hair, blue/grey eyes and a fresh complexion. Alexander was a fisherman on Stornoway registered fishing boats and later became a weaver.

Alexander served in the Royal Navy, Service Number JX529560, in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945. He was based at  HMS Badger, HMS Europa and at Lowestoft . Alexander also served on ARB8's Navy Repair Ships in the Blackwater Estuary, East Anglia tasked with Air Sea Rescue.

At Blythswood, Glasgow in 1946, he married Duncanina Smith, 5 Calbost. Alexander and Duncanina settled at 16 Steinish.
