106905: Kenneth MacLeod

Kenneth was the son of John MacLeod of Backhill and his first wife Kate MacDonald. Kate died when Kenneth was still young, and his father, following his re-marriage, went as schoolteacher and missionary on St Kilda. Kenneth and older brother were pupils at St Kilda school. The family later returned to Sollas. 

Kenneth became a minister. In 1979 his memories of life on St Kilda were recorded for the BBC radio programme Dealan-dè. The recording is available here on the Tobar an Dualchais website.
