70284: 7/1 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla)
7/1 Ruisgarry was created by the division of 7 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla) into thirds in 1887, following the death of John MacAskill’s widow Marion.
The name Lag a’ Chealla means ‘hollow of the church or cell’.
7/1 was passed to Peter MacAskill, who in 1900 obtained 6 Ruisgarry (Beasdaire), and combined them. Later details of tenancy are to be found at the link to 6 Ruisgarry.
