The first known tenant of 7 Garyvard was John Macdonald (1774-1872) Iain Alasdair from Garyvard.
Donald Mackenzie (1810-1891) Dòmhnalll Mhurchaidh from 66 Balallan took over the tenancy and moved to Stornoway after the death of his wife. His son Donald (born 1837) remained at the croft as a Merchant and he moved to Knockiandue, Keose.
The next tenant was Donald Mackenzie (1845-1888) Dòmhnall Iain Choinnich from 2 Keose. There was no family connection with the previous Mackenzie family. Donald passed the croft to his son John Mackenzie (1875-1957) Iain Dhòmhnaill Iain and after his death the croft was passed to his son, John (1914-1971) Iain Iain Dhòmhnaill. John sold the tenancy to Murdo Macleod Murchadh Dòmhnall Iain, 1a Garyvard.
