This work is a genealogical monograph written by Fanny Macaulay, a sister of Thomas Babington Macaulay, Member of Parliament and essayist.

It was edited by Joseph Babington Macaulay, and produced in 1881 in the Welshman printing and publishing offices in Carmarthen, for private circulation.

The Memoirs comprise:

  • Book I. Memoirs of the clan “Aulay”.
  • Book II. Recollections by a sister of T.B. Macaulay.’ [i.e. Margaret Cropper].
