9616: Norman Munro
Norman (1802-1873) was a son of Donald Munro and Mary Mackinnon, Shiant Islands.
In Lochs, in 1831, he married Isabella Macleod from Harris. Norman and Isabella settled at 6 Old Lemreway where they had two of their seven daughters.
The family moved to Valtos Farm about 1837 and to Swordale, Keose Glebe in 1844 where Norman was a Shepherd. They lived down on the shore in Gleann Tharmoid, which was named after him.
Around 1859 the family moved to Caverstay Common when Norman worked at Crobeg Farm. He retired to 15 Grimshader c1871.
