95390: Alexander Campbell

Alexander (1776-1855) was the son of Murdo Campbell. The place of his birth is not known.

Alexander married Margaret Maclennan and the couple had their first child in 1801. It is not certain where they were living when they had their first four children.

Alexander is listed on the Old South Tolsta Tack sub-tenants list, of November 1820, and the couple’s last two children were born there. In total the couple had six children: three  boys and three girls.

In the 1830 croft lottings, the family obtained 26 Old South Tolsta.

Alexander did not obtain a croft in the 1851 croft re-lottings, so it is likely he lived with one of his children for the last four years of his life.
