Evander Maciver
Evander Maciver married Mary Macleod and the couple had six children; the family is thought to have been living in Old South Tolsta Tack. These Macivers were reputed to be excellent sheep-dog trainers and were probably shepherds at the time of the tacksmen, hence the term Clann Iomhair nan con-chaorach!
By 1820 his name appears on the sub-tenants list of Old South Tolsta Tack.
In 1830, during the croft lottings, the family obtained 21 Old South Tolsta; in due course this passed to their son, Donald.
