9536: Alexander Smith

Alexander (1815-1842) was a son of Donald Smith and  Annabella Nicolson, Laxay. His father was joint Tacksman of Laxay with John Smith. Both of Alexander's parents died young and their children were brought up by various relatives. Margaret, Alexander (1815), Malcolm and John lived with their maternal Uncle Donald, at 5 Old Gravir. Alexander (1925) was raised at Valtos Farm.

In 1838, he married Margaret Maciver, 15 Old Gravir. Alexander and Margaret were cottars at 15 Old Gravir and they had three children.

In 1841 his brother, Malcolm was living with the family.

Alexander died aged 27.
