Donald Murray (born 1791) lived in South Dell, but it is not certain he was born there.

Donald married Isabella Maclean, of Gress Tack, but it is not certain where the couple lived during their early marriage or where their first two children were  born.

In 1830 the family obtained 15 Old North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft. The couple had a further three children there. In total they had five children: three boys and two girls.

In 1853 the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
