95028: Angus Smith

Angus (born 1897) was the son of Donald Smith and Isabella Macleod. It is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth; initially they were cottars at 11 North Tolsta, but later they became cottars at 56 North Tolsta.

During World War One Angus served with the Seaforth Highlanders. He was severely wounded.

In 1922 his parents obtained 11 New Tolsta, as a newly lotted croft, but it is not known if Angus was still living in the parental home at this time.

Angus moved to Glasgow. He was married to Joan in Motherwell and they had one daughter (who married a Tolsta man in Dalziel, Lanarkshire in 1952).
