93889: Iain Murray

Iain Murray (born 1905) was the son of Angus Murray and Joan Macleod. It is likely the family were still living at 49 North Tolsta at the time of his birth, but it is not completely certain.

In 1907 Iain’s father was discharged from the Seaforth Highlanders Militia Reserves.

Sometime before 1915 the family settled at 52 Keith Street, Stornoway. Two of Iain’s half brothers were killed, during the Second Battle of Ypres, in the Spring of 1915.

Iain marred, Ann Macaulay, of 10 Swordale, and the couple settled in Keith Street, Stornoway.
