Donald married Catherine Anne Maciver, of 68 North Tolsta. The couple settled at 68 North Tolsta and had three sons.
His father-in-law, Donald Maciver, was a merchant; Donald took over his business. 68 North Tolsta passed to Donald’s eldest son Allan.
