93148: Angus Campbell

Angus (1900-1921) was the son of Colin Campbell and Jessie Smith of 47 North Tolsta.

Angus served with the Royal Naval Reserve during the First World War.

Angus’s father died in 1916 while serving with the Royal Naval Reserve.

On the 5th of August 1918 his older brother John was serving aboard ship with the Merchant Navy and was fatally injured.

On the 16th of March 1921, during The Great Gale, the roof was blown of the family home. Angus was lying in bed seriously ill at the time and his bedding was also blown away. He was moved first to the barn and then the nearest house. He died later that year.
