93043: Ann Macrae

Ann (born 1819) was the daughter of Alexander Macrae and Isabella Morrison; it is not known where the family were living at the time of her birth. Both of Ann’s parents had lived at Gress Tack.

In the early 1830s Ann’s mother died.

In 1832 the family obtained 22 Old North Tolsta, as a newly lotted croft.

By 1833 her father had remarried and had the first of five children with his second wife: Margaret Macdonald.

Ann married Donald Matheson, of South Bragar, and the couple settled in Stornoway.
