Mary (born 1838) was the daughter of John Murray and Christina Campbell, of 6 Old South Tolsta.

In 1843 Mary's mother died; her father went on to marry Mary Mackenzie and the first, of eight, agnate siblings was born in 1847.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 37 North Tolsta.

In 1853 the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

Mary married Donald Gunn, of Quebec, but with links to South Dell.
