Alexander Maciver
Alexander (1910-1940) was the son of Angus Maciver and Isabella Maciver, of Burnside Cottage, North Tolsta.
Alexander's father died in 1912.
Alexander served with the Royal Navy Reserves during World War Two. On the 18th July 1940, he died while serving on the HMY Rinovia; his service number was LT/X8047C. His cause of death is listed as "Lost off ship", this occurred when his trawler was attacked by enemy bombers. His death was reported in the Stornoway Gazette on the 26th of July 1940. His body was recovered and returned to the island, this was reported in the Stornoway Gazette on the 2nd of August 1940.
