Anna Dhomhnaill Bhuidhe

Annie (born 1838) was the daughter of Donald Macdonald and Isabella Maciver, of 1 Old North Tolsta.

In 1842 the family obtained 6 Old North Tolsta.

In 1853, when Old North Tolsta was decrofted to form Tolsta Farm, the family obtained 37 North Tolsta: after the previous occupant emigrated to the Eastern townships of Quebec.

Annie married John Mackay of North Rona, and they were Cottars at  6/7 Fivepenny, Ness the croft of John's brother.  Annie and John had at least three children. In 1871 Annie's father died.

In 1884 the family  emigrated to Canada along with her mother and five of her seven siblings. They settled at Lake Megantic, Quebec for a year and then returned to Lewis.
