Murdo (born 1849) was the son of Angus Macleod and Annie Maciver, of 1 Old South Tolsta.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 36 North Tolsta.

Murdo's mother died in 1870. Later that year, on 15th December, his father married Henrietta Macaskill, of 27 Vatisker.

In 1873 the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
