Kenneth (1840-1923) was the son of Donald Maciver and Margaret Maclean; it is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth. His paternal grandparents were living at 22 Old South Tolsta and his maternal grandparents were from 31 Habost.
In 1841 the family obtained 8 Old North Tolsta, after the previous occupants emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
In 1853 the family obtained 32 North Tolsta, after the previous occupant emigrated to Huron Township, Ontario.
Kenneth married Christina Morrison, of 15 Port of Ness, and the couple settled at 28 Habost, Ness.
