92474: Margaret Macleod

Margaret (born 1838) was the daughter of Angus Macleod and Annie Maciver of 10 Old South Tolsta.

In 1843 the family exchanged crofts and settled at 1 Old South Tolsta.

During the croft lottings, of 1851, the family obtained 36 North Tolsta.

In 1870 Margaret’s mother died and her father remarried on the 15th of December 1870.

By 1873 her father had had a child with his second wife, Henrietta Macaskill, this baby, Margaret’s half sister, died in infancy.

In 1873 Margaret’s father, and stepmother, emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

Margaret married Murdo Maciver, of 32 North Tolsta. In 1873 the couple settled at 57 North Tolsta after the previous occupant, William Finlayson, moved to 10 North Tolsta.

In 1875 the couple emigrated to Lingwick, Quebec.
