Murdo Maciver

Murdo (born 1849) was the son of John Maciver and Mary Morrison, of 4b Old South Tolsta.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 30 North Tolsta.

Murdo emigrated to Vancouver in 1868.

Murdo met and married a woman with links to Barvas. The couple settled on the banks of the Fraser River, near the old HBC Fort Langley. They ran a dairy farm. Maciver's Landing there is named after him.

He planted a poplar tree for every child born to him: seven in all.
