92181: John Nicolson

John Nicolson (born 1799) was the son of John Nicolson of South Dell.

John married Annie Macleod. It is not certain where the couple were living during their early marriage or where they had their first four children. It is known they were not in Old South Tolsta Tack as sub-tenants as far back as 1820, but as their first child was not born until 1821 they may have settled there after they married.

In 1830, during the croft lottings, the family obtained 16 Old South Tolsta. The couple had one further child while living there.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 26 North Tolsta.

In 1853, most of the family emigrated to Whitton, Quebec and 26 North Tolsta passed to Donald Maciver.
