92068: Mary Mackenzie
Mary (1842-1926) was the daughter of Murdo Mackenzie and Eliza Morrison of 4 Old Back.
In 1858 the family obtained 62 Back and settled there. Her cousin Annabella Mackenzie lived there as a cottar and both of them went on to marry into Tolsta.
Mary married, widower, Angus Smith of 47 North Tolsta. She settled with him and her two step children: Jessie and Donald. The couple had no children together.
In 1902 her step son Donald died in his early teens.
In due course 47 North Tolsta passed to her widowed step daughter Jessie.
On Wednesday the 16th of March 1921 the roof was blown off the house during hurricane force winds.
