91986: Ann Smith

Ann (1906-1994) was the daughter of Murdo Smith and Margaret Graham of 75 North Tolsta.

She married Alex Murray of 22 North Tolsta and settled with him there and they had their first child. Alex began building 22 Lochside, North Tolsta.

The couple’s second child was born at 65 North Tolsta, in 1938.

By 1941 Alex had finished building 22 Lochside and the family had moved in, the couple had a further two children there. In total they had four children: three girls and a boy.

In 1955 the family purchased 35 North Tolsta; there was no house on the croft. The family continued to live at Lochside but started using 35 North Tolsta as their address.

In due course 35 North Tolsta passed to their youngest daughter.
