91752: Kennethina Maciver

Kenina (born 1890) was the daughter of Murdo Maciver and Christina Smith of 18 North Tolsta.

Kenina married John Macleod, of 58 North Tolsta, it is not known where the couple spent their early marriage and had their first child.

In 1922 the family obtained 17 New Tolsta as a newly lotted croft. 17 New Tolsta was known as “The Old Shepherd’s House” which implies the house had existed when New Tolsta was still Tolsta Farm.

The couple had three children in total: two girls and a boy.

Her huaband died in 1947 and she and her sister Ceit brought up a grandson there; in old age, she had gone to live with her younger daughter in Glasgow, where she died in 1964, aged 75.
